The curriculum at the primary school level at Haidian Kaiwen Academy (hereinafter referred to as HDKWA) is a bilingual system that combines the East and the West concerning the nine-year compulsory education curriculum and the U.S. Common Core State Standards. The primary school curriculum and teaching activities are structured around interest development, knowledge and skill acquisition, mindset guidance, and practice of extension activities.

The Secondary School (grades 6-8) combines the new Chinese compulsory education curriculum and Common Core State Standards; we independently developed a bilingual curriculum system (KIC) with HDKWA characteristics. The Middle School level curriculum focuses on cultivating students in both academic and personal growth to make complete preparations for their smooth entry into High School.

HDKWA offers 173 after-school activities for grades K-12, covering STEAM, financial literacy, traditional culture, design, sports, cultural thinking, dance, academics, speech and debate, art, puzzles, music, language, and general academics, and more. The program allows students to learn and develop their potential beyond the classroom.

Based on the principle of "Early Planning for Studying Abroad", HDKWA students will get college counseling, once they enter middle school. During the 6-8th grade, all students will get guidance and planning on the recognition of studying abroad, the application requirements of overseas universities, and the cultivation of their comprehensive qualities. After entering the 9-12 grades of high school, students from our school will have one-on-one counseling to get personalized future study planning and individualized growth plan.
