To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Summer Olympics and welcome the arrival of the Beijing Winter Olympics, eighth-grade students of Kaiwen, under the lead of the teachers of Humanities and Social Sciences department, visited the Beijing Olympic Museum to learn about the Olympics.
Kaiwen advocates quality education led by technological innovation and encourages students to appreciate the shock brought by technology while learning the knowledge of books. The field trip combines history, human geography, politics, physics and other multidisciplinary elements to help students explore knowledge during the visit.
The Beijing Olympic Museum has established a major theme of "Witness the Century Olympics Dreams", integrating the Chinese people's 100-year Olympic dreams into a variety of stories. In order to highlight the concept of hi-technology Olympics, the museum uses many new technologies, for example, it fully utilizes the sound, light, electricity and other means in “Fire Collection “and “Harmony Hall”, incorporating AR phantom imaging into the design, which allowed the students to review the grand Beijing Summer Olympics more vividly.
"When the Olympics were held in 2008, I was too young. It seemed to me to be a vague memory. Today, after watching the images of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, I was deeply shocked. It seems that I was at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, I couldn't help but stand up and applaud. I also sang the song "Welcome to Beijing" with my classmates."
“Today I learned the design concepts of the Olympic emblem, mascots, medals, etc. I also saw the beautiful props and costumes used in the opening performances. What impressed me the most is that the banners and pictures produced by Beijing people for the Olympic Games, it was really a national Olympics."
"Through today's visit, I learned the hardships of the Chinese people pursuing the Olympic dream. Now our country is gradually developing into a sports power. This is the hard work of several generations, and I have to learn from them."
"My eyes misted with tears when I saw the pictures of the Chinese women's gymnastics team winning the championship in 2008. They were so young and completed so many difficult moves perfectly, it is really amazing."

The aspirations of the teachers from the Humanities and Social Sciences Department
The original intention of the teachers of Humanities and Social Sciences Department for the Field Trip was through looking back on the wonderful Olympic Games, recalling those exciting moments, to make the students learn Olympic knowledge and Olympic spirit, experience fair competition and companionship being united as one, love sports, love life, understand the strong prosperity of the motherland, and determine to make contributions to the winter Olympics. Which also reflects the education concept that Kaiwen has been adhering to. In the future teaching, more cross-study theme events will be organized, which will not only benefit students, the exchanging among teachers also allows everyone to learn from each other and benefit a lot from it.
