Recently, the students of Kaiwen have achieved remarkable results in many domestic and international competitions. Yu Xuan won the gold prize in the Regular script and Painting final in the 14th National Children’s Painting and Calligraphy Competition held in Kunming, Yunnan Province. Chu Haoru, Wu Guanchen, and Liu Lujia won two gold prizes and one silver prize respectively at the 2018 Vienna Mozart International Piano Competition.
Competition Review
The 14th (2018) National Children's Painting and Calligraphy Competition was held by the Calligraphy Newspaper. The judges of the contest were all well-known calligraphers,painters and professors in China. Nearly 5,000 people contributed to the competition at the preliminary stage, and Yu Xuan and other more than 900 calligraphy lovers competed together in the final stage. Finally, she won the gold prize by solid calligraphy skills.
The day after day practice and study is the magic weapon for Yu Xuan to win. Yu Xuan began studying calligraphy at the age of seven, and her weekly calligraphy class has never been interrupted.
Calligraphy Appreciation of Yu Xuan
The 2018 Vienna Mozart International Piano Competition was hosted by the International Alumni and Musicians Association of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. The finals were held in China (Beijing) and Vienna (Vienna, Austria). Since its launch, the competition has become a world-class piano competition and has received wide attention and recognition from countless amateur and professional piano students and teachers. Nearly 30,000 piano players participated in the trials this year. Some of them eventually entered into the finals and gathered in Beijing and Vienna through multiple rounds of competitions.
Liu Lujia from Kaiwen won the gold prize in the 9-year-old group and Wu Guanchen won the silver prize in the 12-year-old group. Chu Haoru was awarded the fourth gold prize in the 13-year-old group and the qualification of the Austrian Salzburg International Finals in the 2019 Vienna Mozart International Piano Competition. He also won a scholarship to study in Europe.
The three students who won awards are the VIP students of Li Qian, a music teacher of Kaiwen. They have participated in many piano concerts and performances on campus, not only fully demonstrating their personal talents but also actively promoting others to participate in the study of music art.
The student Wu Guanchen, not only has superb musical talents but also shows his extraordinary talents in sports. In the U12 group of the 14th United World Games (UWG) this year, the small elite team of the Oriental Venus Basketball Club, which was joined by Wu Guanchen, won the runner-up. We won the bronze prize of "Shuttle Run".
Piano Performance
Kaiwen not only emphasizes academic education but also attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' special skills such as art, sports and science, and technology. In Kaiwen, every student cultivates his own expertise. The school fully satisfies and encourages students to develop their hobbies.
