“I have always agreed with Kaiwen Academy (KWA)’s educational philosophy. Next year, my child will be studying at the KWA secondary school. I will act as a bridge between the parents’ committees of KWA’s primary and secondary school divisions. I will also share more resources. I hope that the Parents’ Committee will unite and contribute to better education of our children and more,” said Ms. Sun Wen, director of the 1st KWA Secondary School Parents’ Committee.
On June 12, the 1st Beijing Kaiwen Academy
Parents’ Committee Founding Conference was held. KWA Executive Principal Zhou
Zhaoyu, Academic Principal Wang Shi, Foreign Vice Academic Principal Donald
Miller, Primary School Director Michael Shimshak, and heads of KWA’s various
departments all attended the conference. They warmly welcomed the arrival of
members of the Parents’ Committee and witnessed this historic moment together
with the members.
The Parents’ Committee was set up to further promote family-school communication. The committee will brainstorm for the common interests of the school and the students and for building a big KWA family.
The founding of the Parents’ Committee marks that an educational system that integrates school, family, and community has been truly established at KWA. To better play the Parents’ Committee’s role, members need to have a deep understanding of the progress that KWA has made in various aspects, actively provide advice, and earnestly perform their duties. They need to treat the school’s measures objectively and impartially, do their utmost, and mobilize all possible resources to provide students with more opportunities and a bigger arena.
The committee members all agreed upon the great significance of the committee’s establishment. They also expressed that they would play an active role in maintaining the school’s reputation and organizing activities, so that more people could understand KWA’s advantages in running a school.
WE ARE ONE is the slogan for KWA’s family-school cooperation in education. The goal of family-school cooperation is to enable consistent family and school education, and form a joint force to promote students’ development in morals, academic studies, and physical and mental health. The Parents’ Committee will work tirelessly to establish a good environment for students’ growth.
