In order to help the students develop sound habits in daily life, study, thinking and polite behaviors, promote them to integrate the habits into behaviors and facilitate their healthy growth, in the 2018-2019 academic year, Haidian Kaiwen Academy launched a series of educational campaigns to implement the Codes for Primary and Secondary School Students and Etiquette Rules for Primary and Secondary School Students in Haidian District. The purpose was to further improve the basic moral quality of the students comprehensively and construct a civilized campus.

Kaiwen Academy posted the Codes and the Etiquette Rules in noticeable positions in each classroom to enhance publicity and education. Meanwhile, each class would discuss in class meetings the difficulties in developing a certain good habit, personal thoughts of students and ways to overcome the difficulties, giving the students a chance to learn from each other. By doing so, each class could combine the codes of conduct with its class regulations and routine management.

For the purpose of enhancing the students’ awareness of self-discipline and shaping an admirable climate, the Student Union of Kaiwen Academy has set up Self-Management Department to supervise conducts of the students and regularly organize educational activities. In this semester, Self-Management Department launched several activities such as “Smile is Our Language, Respect is Our Faith” and “No Bad Words” to help the students build up positive concepts on politeness and create a harmonious and polite campus environment.

In order to stimulate and guide the faculty and students to practice the core socialist values and realize the Chinese Dream of the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation, at the weekly assembly, the teachers of Social Science Department have gave the lecture themed “Core Socialist Values”. Thanks to the study, the faculty and students further understand the meaning, content and significance of the core socialist values. They are determined to take the initiative to regulate their own words and deeds in the future study, life and work and actively practice the core socialist values with actions.

“As a school, in order to carry out the Codes for Primary and Secondary School Students and Etiquette Rules for Primary and Secondary School Students in Haidian District, we should organize activities suitable for the students’ ages. We integrate the work into daily activities of the students to help them fully understand and practice the Codes and the Etiquette Rules, offer them a platform of exercise and self-display, and guide them to implement the Codes and the Etiquette Rules in practice starting from minor matters,” said Ms. Madeleine Ma, Vice Principal in charge of moral education of Haidian Kaiwen Academy.

Through the serial educational campaigns, Kaiwen Academy has helped its students integrate the Codes and the Etiquette Rules into their mind and behaviors. Referring to the Codes and the Etiquette Rules as benchmark, the students initiatively regulate their words and deeds and strive to grow into qualified builders of the motherland and Socialist successors.
