Upholding the philosophy of adaptability, courage and persistence distinctive to Kaiwen Academy in Haidian District of Beijing, the school tailor-made camp activities for students of different grades in the secondary education department based on their age, studying phase, growth and development goals.
Students of the sixth grade participated in a military camp, where they forged their willpower through activities of formation and team building training. Students from the seventh to ninth grades attended the pioneer camp where they had their leaderships in terms of study, communication and sports improved through training programs of communication skills and multiple sports events. Students from the 10th to 12th grades took part in the leadership camp, where they had their global perspective, critical thinking abilities and leaderships shaped with professional and customized courses, better preparing them to apply for global prestigious universities.
On August 12, 2019, the opening ceremony of camp activities at Kaiwen Academy for the 2019-2020 semester was held in the auditorium. The ceremony was attended by all students of the secondary education department. The venue was brimmed with their joyful laughing of students who are eager for exploring the unknown world.

Vice Principal Madeleine Ma delivered opening remarks, “Kaiwen Academy prepares three camp activities for students. We hope that you, students of our school, can rise to challenge with courage, push your limits and move ahead in difficult situations. You need to challenge yourself constantly, and forge strong mind and body to prepare yourselves for higher mountains and greater feats. With the camp activities, we also hope you can see the world with science perspective. You can think critically and make innovation. Experience the camps, harvest the experience, draw lessons from failures, and enjoy the joy of growth.”
Steven Sun, president of the Student Union, spoke at the ceremony. “As students at Kaiwen Academy, we never stop exploring the world. We never stop pursuing freedom and courage. With the camp activities and training, we hope we could develop greater sense of responsibilities and think like a leader.”
