On May 21st 2019, as one of the “Four Ones” educational activities held by Haidian Kaiwen Academy, students from the seventh grade visited the Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, with the aim of getting to know the historic achievement of the Communist Party of China and noble deeds of heroes, invoking their love for the nation and the Party and cultivating and implementing socialist core values.
After arriving at Wanpingcheng, students of Kaiwen walked from the parking lot to the museum. With respect for the history, they entered the Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, located at Wanpingcheng, with heavy steps. The museum is the only large-scale comprehensive museum for the theme of the war of Chinese People’s resistance against Japanese aggression in the country. In the museum, students can see valuable relics and pictures of the war, get to know its history, appreciate the patriotic feelings of heroes who had sacrificed their lives for the country and learn the spirit of the war of resistance.
Guided by teachers of the museum, students of Kaiwen were informed of the background and evolution of the national anthem and the song Chang Cheng Yao (Ballad of the Great Wall). Full of patriotism at heart, students sang the two songs in powerful voices, expressing their love for the motherland and remembrance of our fellow countrymen.
Teachers completed detailed explanation of every knowledge point on the study checklist and the students were taught of the 14-year history of bloody battles with a united front against Japanese aggression. The war of resistance, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, was supported by the whole Chinese nation including compatriots in Taiwan, Hongkong and Macao as well as overseas Chinese. The students had a more comprehensive understanding of the revolutionary history of the war and became aware of the value of the hard-won victory and a happy life.
After the educational tour, students of Kaiwen assembled in front of the museum and song famous patriotic songs: Yi Tiao Da He Bo Lang Kuan, Hong Xing Shan Shan and Ge Chang Zu Guo. Through the songs, students followed the footsteps of national heroes, felt the times of vicissitudes and unforgettable events and engraved on their minds the spirit of remembering the history and looking ahead to the future.
The visit ensured that students of Kaiwen bear in mind the spirit of solidarity and contribution during the war of resistance. Either in war or peace, we must stick together and advance bravely. We should never forget the national humiliation and carry forward rational patriotism. We need to translate the patriotic fever into strong willpower to study, thus striving to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
