In Kaiwen, it is often more difficult to make an appointment with students than the teacher. In particular, there is a just five minutes break in the middle school, and lunchtime is one hour or so. The extended curriculum adopts small class teaching, within 20 people per class according to the content. Compared with the curriculum of the previous school year, in addition to the abundant categories and numbers, the extended curriculum of this semester pays more attention to cross-disciplinary and integration and participation in international special competitions. In particular, extended curriculum in terms of science and technology has been fully launched: the introduction of the TEN80 racing which develops K-12 STEM curriculum, the 3D series design course offered by Yunshangdongli, the team member of the Engineering Academy academician Lu Bingheng, and the introduction by the Youth International Competition and Exchange Center of the US "Future City" project, as well as the curriculum resources designated by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission: Aviation Maker and UAV Maker, Lego Engineer Series courses. The students will also be organized to participate in high-level events at home and abroad.
With respect of sports extended curriculum, the coaches of golf, baseball, tennis, and fencing are from the PGA UK, MLB, China Open and Beijing Fencing respectively. Football is taught by the youth coach of Manchester City Football Club. Swimming is taught by the coach of the TP Swimming Club. The coach is Xu Zhenyu, the former head coach of the Beijing Swimming Team. Synchronized swimming is taught by the coach of Chen Xiaojun, the world champion and the coach of Xinke Sports. The art extended curriculum is taught by Kaiwen Art Department, Beijing Dance Academy, China Jazz Dance Examination Center, Zhuomei Drama, and other domestic first-class art education institutions. Different courses use different evaluation systems. Grade test can be arranged for Jujitsu and Jazz Dance in the school because of the authoritative qualification of the teaching institution.
