“We are the Communist successors, and heirs of the glorious revolutionary tradition.

Love the motherland, love the people. The bright red scarf flutters in front of the chest.

.....

We are the Communist successors, advancing along the glorious path of the older generations of revolutionaries.

Love the motherland, love the people. Young Pioneer is our proud name.”

The loud singing of the Young Pioneers Song resounded throughout the multi-functional hall.

A year ago, as freshmen, they started a new campus life at Beijing Kaiwen Academy (KWA) wearing school uniforms embroidered with the logo of a demoiselle crane. After a short school year, they have grown up and gradually fit into the primary school life. On the special day of June 1, all primary school teachers and students participated in an entry ceremony for new Young Pioneers. The ceremony had the theme of “transmit the spirit of the demoiselle crane and strive to be good KWA teenagers.”

After the host announced the start of the entry ceremony, Young Pioneer representatives put a red scarf on school leaders. All stood up and sang the Young Pioneers Song while the procession holding the Young Pioneers Flag marched in.

The Brigade Instructor solemnly announced the “decision to take in the new Young Pioneers.”

Old members put a red scarf on the new ones and they saluted each other. The Young Pioneers’ spirit of unity, mutual assistance, and courtesy was passed down from the old to the new.

Zhang Yiran of Class 2, Grade 5 spoke on behalf of all old members. “Today will be an unforgettable day for all of us. On behalf of all the old members, I welcome the new members. All Young Pioneers are a big family. We will constantly improve our words and deeds, scale new heights, and set a good example for new members.”

The new members, led by the instructor, raised their right hands high and took a solemn oath before the Young Pioneers Flag.

Tan Chuer, a student of Class 6, Grade 1, spoke on behalf of the new members, “I am very proud to be a real Young Pioneer. From now on, we will behave in accordance with the standards of the Young Pioneers. We will cherish and take good care of the red scarf on our chests. We will always remember our responsibility, study harder, get along with classmates, and care about collective affairs. We will strive to be an excellent Young Pioneer who is optimistic, healthy, and full of wisdom.”

The Brigade Instructor announced the establishment of a squadron, and the school leader presented the squadron flag to the squadron leader.

At the ceremony, Executive Principal Zhou Zhaoyu said, “Congratulations to the 100 new members on joining the Young Pioneers organization. So far, KWA has 327 Young Pioneers. I hope that from today on, every Young Pioneer will abide by the fine style of Young Pioneers—honesty, bravery, liveliness, and unity. Young Pioneers must strictly discipline themselves, respect teachers, honor parents, and care for the weak and classmates. Young Pioneers must strive for courage, altitude, and freedom that the demoiselle crane symbolizes.”

All Young Pioneers saluted while the procession holding the Young Pioneers Flag marched out.
